“Pong” means "friend", and it also means "gather" in terms of verb. On Chinese Moon Festival all the family members will gather together to celebrate this day, it's also a chance to unite each other for maintaining family relationship. The word "Pong" can be separated into two "moon" characters: The left one is piled up strips of yarn arranging rotationally on a wood board, just like everyone sitting around a big table and celebrating family reunion. The right one means the shadow of moon, consisting of different fabric pieces, which is made by the skill of yarn wrapping, arranging obliquely on another wood board, and the texture looks like pine apple fibers showing strong connection between family members.
